Good news from The Quarter in De Waterkant is that construction is now underway again after Covid-19 lockdown restrictions on the construction industry have been lifted. “We moved back on site on 1 June 2020 and are back to full productivity,” reports Project Manager Christiaan Bester. “Our contractor has put strict Covid-19 safety measures in place to ensure that everyone on site is protected and safe.
“The structure was completed at the end of December 2019 and we are on course to complete this magnificent building by the middle of December 2020, with sectional handovers commencing in December and carrying over into early 2021.
“We have recently reinstated the cobbles on Rawbone Lane, keeping the heritage of the area intact. We have also agreed with the local Improvement District to plant an avenue of trees along both sides of De Smidt Street, greening this lovely little sidestreet and contributing to the unique urban village feel of De Waterkant.”
There are eleven apartments left for sale at The Quarter. These range from a stunning 48 square metre studio for R2,750 million to an expansive duplex penthouse of 332 square metres, which includes a roof terrace and a private pool, on the market for R13,995 million.
